Paint Simulation Engineer Job in Bengaluru at General Motors

General Motors is hiring for the role of Paint Simulation Engineer! 

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Perform Electrocoat thickness prediction, Fluid Access & Drainage study and Oven bake simulation studies
• Achieve process excellence metrics like 100% First Time Quality, 100% On time delivery, 95% Efficiency, 85% Project Utilization by adhering to standardized work for all studies
• Perform special simulation studies for chronic process problems in paint shops
• Provide and implement continuous process improvement ideas within the team
• Seek & evaluate customer feedback and drive changes as appropriate
• Represent paint simulation in the appropriate forums. Participate in global product development council & technical team meeting 
• Capture and share lessons learned within the te
• Enhance team’s capabilities by bringing in innovation

Requirements: 

• Sound knowledge in StarCCM+ / ALSIM, Teamcenter, AutoCAD, MS Office applications.
• Sound knowledge in any of the CAE/FEA tools Hypermesh, ANSA, LS-Dyna, Optistruct etc.,
• Good knowledge of fluid mechanics, heat transfer and computational fluid dynamics concepts.
• Good knowledge of complete automotive paint shop processes, materials and facilities.
• Good understanding of the GVDP, GLP, Quality Chain, DFMEA-PFMEA.
• Good knowledge on Agile Project Management methodologies.
• Sound knowledge of OpEx tools, Six sigma and Red X methodologies.
• Sound knowledge on GM-GMS Principles and Workplace safety systems.
• Basic understanding in AI/ML technologies & algorithms
• Basic understanding in immersive technologies (AR/VR/XR)
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Production/Chemical/Automobile Engineering discipline.
• 2-6 years of Paint process & simulation experience from Automotive / Aerospace OEMs / Engineering Organizations
