Packet Core Support Engineer Job in Bhopal at Ericsson

Ericsson is hiring for the role of Packet Core Support Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Provide L2/L3 technical support for packet core nodes deployed across the circle, including virtual and cloud-native core elements.
• Perform root-cause analysis on customer-impacting faults and coordinate remediation with NOC, Back Office, SRF, and TSG teams.
• Monitor daily reports and KPIs, identify dips in critical metrics, and produce action plans to restore and optimize performance.
• Conduct routine parameter audits and validate configuration consistency across PS core nodes.
• Manage Change Requests (CRs): prepare, coordinate, and validate CR execution in collaboration with SRF and change teams.
• Lead customer complaint resolution by liaising with TSG and other stakeholders to ensure timely closure.
• Ensure reliable backup and restore procedures for core node configurations and state, and validate backup integrity regularly.
• Follow customer and central team guidelines, maintain accurate documentation, and implement process improvements.
• Mentor and lead a small team within the area of responsibility, including task allocation and escalation handling.
• Any other network upkeep tasks as required to maintain network availability and performance.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience. 
• Strong knowledge of Packet Core network elements and 3GPP standards.
• Hands-on experience with virtualized/VM/cloud packet core platforms (H-Cloud, V-Cloud, SAPC, vEPG, vMME or similar).
• Solid understanding of Diameter, GTP, and policy/accounting interfaces (Rx, Gx, Gy, Gn, S2a, etc.).
• Proven experience in GPRS/data troubleshooting and deep packet inspection using Wireshark (trace capture and analysis).
• Proficient in Linux OS and common networking tools/CLI.
• Good grasp of IP networking concepts, routing protocols, subnetting and troubleshooting at L2/L3.
• Familiarity with WiFi network concepts (offload, S2a, ePDG, etc.) is desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work under pressure during incident resolution.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and customers. Experience leading or mentoring a small team.
