What you’ll do

• Design and develop opto-mechanical systems for ADCS components, ensuring precision, reliability, and on-orbit performance.
• Drive end-to-end part and assembly design, from fabrication to failure analysis, ensuring tight tolerances and robust GD&T.
• Collaborate with structural and mechanical engineers to conduct simulations and analyses for mechanical stability and thermal resilience.
• Develop and execute alignment, calibration, and testing protocols for high-reliability space environments.
• Participate in technical reviews and support test campaigns, including vibration, shock, and optical performance testing.
• Work hands-on with prototypes, production hardware, and test systems.

What You Bring

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong Engineering fundamentals.
• Familiarity with CAD tools.
• Demonstrated history of building things.
• Resourceful, flexible, and adaptable with a no task big or no task to small attitude.
• Ability to balance multiple projects and academic coursework.

Great to have requirements

• Experience building hardware for satellites.
• Experience with FSAE, Student satellite groups, or other hardware organizations.
• Experience designing precision optical assemblies using glass, carbon fiber, metals, ceramics, and epoxies.
• Strong hands-on experience with dynamic hardware builds.
• Familiarity with OnShape, Nastran, MATLAB, & Python
