Network Operations Engineer, Google Global Networking Job in Bangalore at Google

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Respond to network outages by providing a diagnosis of Layer 1 to Layer 3 network errors and initiate and complete network repairs.
• Use workflows and systems to diagnose optical Layer 1 and Layer 3 network issues to completion.
• Participate in 24/7 global team shift rotations.
• Provide remote support for field operations related to network repairs. Interface with high-level customers communicating repair status and updates.
• Escalate network repair issues and request upgrades to tools and systems when opportunities for improvement are needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience in troubleshooting Dense Wavelength-Division Multiplexing (DWDM) systems, DWDM topology, and architecture.
• 3 years of experience in networking technologies.
• Experience in Optical or IP network operations.
• Understanding of networking and fundamentals of network troubleshooting at both Layer 1 and Layer 3.
• Ability to participate in shift work in a network operations center environment.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills in DWDM and Routing systems.
