Stantec is hiring for the role of Network Modeler - CW!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Conduct hydraulic modeling, including model building and verification.
• Perform optioneering and outline design of hydraulic solutions.
• Assess the impact of new developments on hydraulic systems.
• Optimize pressure in water networks.
• Prepare technical reports and drawings based on project findings.
• Utilize GIS databases for project support and analysis.
• Handle and analyze large datasets effectively.
• Occasionally coordinate with clients outside regular hours.
• Travel offshore occasionally for training or on-site work.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Understanding of hydraulic design, modeling, DMA (District Metered Areas), pressure management, and network analysis.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software, such as InfoWorks WS Pro, InfoWater, Synergy, Bentley WaterGEMS, or DHI MIKE Urban+.
• Familiarity with optimization tools and scripting languages (Python, SQL, Visual Basic) along with advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with data manipulation tools (e.g., FME, Power BI, MS Access).
• Knowledge of GIS tools such as MapInfo and ArcGIS is preferred.
• Strong technical report writing and client service management skills.
• Ability to assess project complexities and assist the team lead in mitigating risks.
• High attention to detail with a commitment to professional growth.
• Flexible and proactive approach to work assignments and execution.
