Google is hiring for the role of Network Implementation Engineer

Responsibility

• Respond to network outages by providing a diagnosis of Layer 1 to Layer 3 network errors and initiate and complete network repairs.
• Use/Develop workflows and systems to diagnose optical Layer 1 and Layer 3 network issues to completion.
• Participate in 24/7 global team shift rotations.
• Provide remote support for field operations related to network repairs.
• Interface with high-level customers communicating repair status and updates as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in network operations, systematic troubleshooting in IP and Optical environment.
• Experience in telecommunications at carrier scale working with optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, layer2/3 routers, data Services and DWDM.
• Experience working with field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in a telecommunications environment.
• Experience with TCP/IP and network routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, MPLS) and infrastructure with optical network installation, maintenance, and operation.
