Naval Architecture Manager Job in Chennai at Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T)

L&T is hiring for the role of Naval Architecture Manager!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Study RFP/RFI and Tenders to establish basic characteristics of a ship, such as its size, weight, and speed, and develop cost-competent design and prepare Bill of Material
• Carry out Naval architectural design and calculations such as hull form development, intact & damaged stability, resistance & propulsion, ship strength, seakeeping, maneuvering, freeboard, gross tonnage, etc., using software and also manually where applicable. Knowledge of appendages of Ship
• Prepare technical specifications in respect of model tests, and control surfaces, and evaluate vendor offers, leading to the selection & finalization of specifications ensuring 100% compliance with the customer, class, and statutory requirements
• Knowledge of Classification Society rules (LR, IRS, ABS, etc.).
• Conduct sea trials of ships such as inclining experiments, speed trials, maneuvering trials, etc.
• Work closely with other design engineers, production engineers, and quality personnel to ensure smooth progress of design and construction 

Requirements:

• Experience in Naval Architectural design and calculations
• Hands-on experience in a ship design center/ shipyard
• Should be conversant with Class requirements
• Working knowledge of NAPA/ any other naval architecture software, ACAD, MS Office
• Candidate shall be from a Ship Design/ Shipbuilding/ related industry with the above experience. Experience working on Defense projects is preferable
