Baxter Is hiring for the role of Mechanical Engineer II!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Leverage your knowledge of mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid flow, heat transfer, and medical-grade materials to design and develop critical mechanical components for our devices.
• Translate concepts into detailed drawings, specifications, and test plans, ensuring a smooth transition to manufacturing and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, etc.) to overcome challenges and bring products to market successfully.
• Design and conduct rigorous testing to validate the safety, effectiveness, and performance of your designs.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field)
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, drawing standards, and mechanical/electromechanical design principles
• Experience with low-flow pumps, solenoid mechanisms, and automation (LabVIEW a plus)
• Understanding of successful integration of mechanical components with electrical and consumable elements
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Hands-on experience with design calculations, CFD, and basic FEA (bonus points for biocompatible piping/tubing knowledge)
• Ability to think creatively and miniaturize designs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Enthusiasm for working in a dynamic, purpose-driven environment
