Market Risk Management - Analyst Job in Mumbai at Barclays

Barclays is hiring for the role of Market Risk Management - Analyst!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Gain in in-depth understanding of the Barclays eTrading governance and controls procedures, and Regulatory expectations for electronic trading.
• Evaluate the risk control framework to ensure is fit for purpose, such as financial controls, price checks, stale data, venue controls, and kill switches, to mitigate financial loss.
• Evaluate the testing strategy of the risk control framework for any software releases, and collaborate with Technology to drive improvements to their process via automation.
• Work with the asset class market risk managers for the approval of any intraday risk limits, and limit methodologies. Analyze and review historical utilization traded data to calibrate limit values at which controls are set.
• Monitor risk control triggers and prompt investigations.

Requirements:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with all levels of management in the Front Office and 2nd line functions
• Control-focused, ability to remain objective and independently challenge, able to concisely summarize issues to a senior audience
• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple deliveries and remediation actions
• At least 1-2 years relevant work experience in one of the following functions: Algo Trading, statistical modeling, eTrading technology, eTrading Risk such as Operational or Market Risk.
• MBA or Masters in a quantitative field
• Sound knowledge of derivative markets, product pricing and process flows for data management
• Familiarity with market risk metrics, stress testing, and regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel III) related to structured credit
• Analytical and IT skills are required (advanced Excel/VBA/Python) to build tools that will help in carrying out the responsibilities in this role
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the confidence to follow up with multiple upstream and downstream teams
• Technology proficiency in any of these languages: Python, SQL, VBA, C, C++, Java   
• Strong organizational and detailed documentation skills
• Self-motivated, takes ownership of responsibilities assigned to him/her
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
• Ability to work and collaborate in a team
• Prior experience in market risk reporting or management would be preferred
