Manager – Regulatory Mapping Job in Bangalore at HSBC

HSBC is hiring for the post of Manager – Regulatory Mapping!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• To support Businesses by providing specialist assistance as required, extracting data where required
• To provide innovative and effective solutions based on knowledge and expertise
• Specific responsibilities
• Fair understanding of Regulatory Mapping structure, along with the ability to read through and briefly interpret various regulatory change triggers received from Regulator’s feed/news, which may include but not limited to; new regulation releases, existing regulation enhancement, articles/sub-sections being introduced/repealed from regulators across the regions
• Support the creation/Analysis of Regulatory Mapping Database reports to identify potential gaps against the desired state of regulatory data
• Facilitate and drive GBL (country and regional) data input into gaps and discrepancies identified within data; and Ensure consistency of approach across all GBL/regions, in line with Global Operational Procedures and Target Operating Model
• To provide ad hoc reporting and analytics on data extracts
• Monitoring and status reporting on activities, escalation as appropriate
• Engaging and managing stakeholders including Compliance and Global Risk stewards and senior leadership (when appropriate)
• Maintain an open two-way communication line with other like-minded colleagues whereby opportunities to streamline and/or work synergic ally are identified/optimized
• Become a recognized point of contact for escalation for the Regional or local Compliance teams who undertake regulatory mapping; support their responsibilities to assist local teams using the database
• Maintain alignment with Technology project teams to understand the design and implementation of any new technical solutions
• Work independently and have the gravitas and acumen to consult with the Function at senior management level, and Be self-motivated and driven, but able to manage a team/work in a team whenever required
• Ensure minimal re-work opportunities while working/interpreting various regulatory changes
• Deliver accurate, relevant and timely information when dealing with ad hoc reporting and analytics on data extracts
• Strive to ensure almost zero opportunity of error whenever working on any request from Local Risk Stewards
• Regular dialogue obtained from the RC Regional or GBL teams regarding RCM usage
• Develop and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with effective communication with stakeholders and customers
• Face key Business decision makers within Regulatory Conduct and ensure a clear and open channel of communication with management so that information, questions, and concerns of HSBC can be directed to the proper stakeholders in a prompt and efficient manner
• Interact with and coordinate on activities with RC and Business as required
• Interact with multiple Regions and GBLs to share monthly MI
• Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets
• Develop and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with stakeholders and customers
• Effective communication and reporting channels supporting comprehensive, accurate and complete reporting and analysis
• Assist with developing and communicating a clear vision for TES that is aligned to the overall HSBC vision, values and goals, and inspires and engages people to create an inclusive, high-performing, customer-centered culture

Requirements:

• Worked in a major international bank/financial institution, within a matrix environment, including reporting internationally
• Shall be a highly motivated and dynamic self-starter, working collaboratively within teams, delivering on time and with a strong attention to detail. Excellent project management & documentation skills
• Relationship management within the context of Regulatory Conduct; prior experience of proofreading/interpreting Regulations along with the ability to gauge possible associated Risks, would be an added advantage
• With strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication, dealing with senior executives
• Sound judgment and problem-solving skills, ability to think laterally; Good quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; and High level of professional and personal integrity
• Strong attention to detail to identify duplicated Reg Map records and working with Reg Map owners to de-duplicate
• IT literate and the ability to interrogate the database to extract ad hoc data requests. Ability to work logically and systematically with the myriad of spreadsheets produced when a regulation is created or amended
• Disciplined/Organized and able to follow a regular diary of monthly reporting activities, responding to challenges raised; Capable of prioritizing activities in the face of competing requirements
