Avalara is hiring for the role of Learning Experience Designer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Support L&D BP’s to conduct thorough needs assessments to identify learning gaps and performance objectives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business goals and learner needs.
• Develop comprehensive curriculum plans that align with CCO goals and objectives.
• Design instructional materials, including e-learning modules, instructor-led materials, and multimedia content.
• Apply adult learning theories and instructional design best practices to create effective and engaging learning experiences.
• Design assessments and evaluations to measure learning outcomes and program effectiveness.
• Stay current with learning technologies and tools to enhance learning experiences.
• Integrate multimedia elements, simulations, and interactive components into training materials.
• Work closely with subject matter experts, trainers, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure accuracy in content.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with overall CCO strategies.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality learning solutions.
• Track and report on project progress, addressing any issues or roadblocks.
• Gather and analyze feedback from learners and stakeholders to continuously improve learning programs.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, incorporating them into the design process.

Requirements:

• Recognized Qualification in Instructional Design, Learning Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in instructional design and curriculum development.
• Proficiency in e-learning development tools such as Camtasia, Rise, Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar.  Knowledge of other design tools is desirable. 
• Knowledge of accessibility standards for online learning materials.
• Familiarity with gamification principles in learning design.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Creative mindset with a focus on innovation in learning design.
