Lead Engineer (L3) - EV Job in Pune at Bajaj Auto Limited

Bajaj Auto is hiring for the role of Lead Engineer (L3) - EV!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Design Electric vehicles and their electrical/ electronic systems like energy storage, drive machine, control unit, converter/inverter, charger, etc. as per performance/quality/cost/weight targets and plant manufacturing requirements
• Layout and packaging of vehicle parts DMU considering all aspects of functionality and manufacturability/ serviceability
• Support vehicle programs through the entire life cycle including; design, prototype builds, vehicle tests, and production
• Conduct DR, and FMEA (system/ design) and apply them in the design phase.
• Define performance and reliability test parameters and procedures for such parts.
• Keep track of global trends in relevant technology, and regulations and develop long-term road maps and appropriate work plan
• Benchmarking and generation of ideas for better performance, quality, cost, and weight
• Root cause analysis for quality issues using QC tools and countermeasure action
• Define the overall activity schedule for all projects, monitor the same periodically, and take appropriate action to ensure targeted deliveries
• Handle diagnostics & flashing

Requirements:

• Qualification: B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech in Electrical or Electronics, having a thorough knowledge of Electric vehicles and their energy systems/machines, etc
• Age limit: 30 years
• Proficient in system architecture design of Electrical vehicles & different EVs
• Knowledge of vehicle powertrains and the interfaces arising out of electrification
• Knowledge about automotive industry standards and regulations, applicable globally, in the field of EV
• Thorough in basic theories and design concepts of different electronics and electrical components used in various EVs
• Knowledge of vehicle harness design, wire size selection, high voltage/ power connectors & vehicle electrical insulation requirements, etc
• Exposure to manufacturing and validation facilities for key systems like Li batteries, BMS, Electric machines, etc, and hands-on testing/ test set-up experience
• Software skills: Matlab, C, C++, CAN, and CAD (UG NX preferred)
• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management
• Good understanding of all applicable standards/regulations and their application
• Knowledge of ISO/ TS standards for design, environment, information security, and functional safety
