American Express is hiring for the role of Engineer!!
Responsibilities of the Candidate:
- Develop and improve mobile application features for millions of American Express cardholders worldwide.
- Apply strong technical skills and creativity to solve complex problems and utilize innovative technologies.
- Contribute ideas openly, with a focus on enhancing user experience and writing clean, maintainable code.
- Collaborate closely within a small team of designers, product owners, QA, and engineers in a fast-paced environment.
- Leverage the stability of a Fortune 100 company while working in an agile, small-team setup.
- Use modern Android development methodologies and tools to deliver high-quality applications.
- Rapidly iterate on ideas with the team, working effectively in situations with some ambiguity.
Requirements:
- Experience in building Android applications.
- Proficiency in writing, updating, and deleting code.
- Familiarity with build tools like Gradle, GitHub Actions, and CircleCI.
- Knowledge of continuous integration patterns.
- Strong debugging skills for identifying and fixing bugs.
- Proficiency with asynchronous coding patterns.
- Skills in performance analysis and optimization.
- Experience working with legacy code.
- Knowledge of unit and integration testing.
- Involvement in open-source projects is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a globally distributed team.
- Self-motivated with strong time management skills.
- Experience integrating with legacy backend services.
- Ability to design solutions for open-ended problems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
