Barclays is hiring for the role of Java Tech Lead!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Performing Software Design, Programming and Unit Testing.
• Leading a team of software developers working in the “Feature Team” model to deliver mobile banking solutions.
• Designing modifications from supplied requirements and design specifications using agreed standards and tools, achieving well-engineered results that follow the agreed implementation level software architectures.
• Creating and amending complex software programs in accordance with the design, following relevant code management procedures and applying agreed coding standards.
• Taking responsibility for the design, coding, testing and documentation of particularly large, complex or mission-critical software programs.
• Planning, designing and conducting tests of programs, correcting errors and re-testing to deliver an error-free product.
• Proposing options to meet business area requirements and preparing cost/benefit for the business area to evaluate.  
• Reacting quickly and as necessary to live software errors and service problems, limiting downtime and resolving the problem during project handover.
• Documenting all work in accordance with agreed standards and with re-use in mind.
• Conducting reviews of supplied specifications.
• Taking part in reviews of own work and leading reviews of colleagues’ work.
• Completing assigned work to budget, time and quality requirements, including a combination of performing operational support tasks to agreed service standards and supporting enhancements or other technical projects. 

Requirements:

• Mandatory:
  • Good command of the Java programming language. Strong experience in using Spring & SpringBoot Framework and data structures
  • Experience building high-performance scalable backend services in Cloud Technologies.
  • Knowledge of RDBMS development (eg. Oracle) & SQL skills. Experience in at least
  • NoSQL DB such as MongoDB
  • Proficiency with messaging systems covering RabbitMQ, Kafka & Mule
  • Proficiency in DevOps and Agile style of Software Development with knowledge of tools such as SonarQube, Jenkins, JProfiler, Maven etc.
  • Good command of service patterns and protocols covering Web Services, API, REST, and RPC.  Experience of using API test frameworks 
• Preferred:
  • Exposure to API design strategies for mobile usage
  • Minimum education qualification-Graduate
  • Experience in mobile technologies or React Native
