Payatu Technologies is hiring for the role of IoT Software Security Researcher!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Discover vulnerabilities in IoT device firmware through firmware analysis and reverse engineering.
• Contribute to the security research community by sharing your findings, tools, and knowledge through publications, presentations, and workshops.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest security threats and techniques by continuous research and learning.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to collaborate with colleagues and present research findings.
• Develop innovative methods for attacking and securing firmware through creative thinking.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in engineering or equivalent required.
• Strong understanding of embedded firmware security and experience with firmware reversing.
• Deep knowledge of ARM and x86 assembly language and operating systems concepts.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Familiarity with embedded protocols (UART, I2C, SPI, JTAG, SWD) and radio protocols (BLE, WiFi).
• Passion for security research and a history of publishing or presenting research.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
