Commvault Cloud is hiring for the role of Inside Sales Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

  • Provide technical expertise to design and sell a solution in collaboration with the inside sales rep, lead generation, and the customer.
  • Anticipate technology trends and build strong relationships with partners and internal departments (sales, professional services, support, business units, product management, marketing, development, and customer success), as appropriate, to ensure success during sales campaigns and/or to ensure the customer experience is extremely positive.
  • Engage with the customer to qualify and understand key technical, financial, operational, and business issues that can be addressed with any one or all of Commvault’s SaaS products.
  • Distill the pre-sales discovery into a concise message, outlining the technical, business, operational, and financial inefficiencies/challenges that Commvault addresses with its SaaS products.
  • Collaborate with the creation and presentation of a business case to any and all business sponsors (i.e., C-level executives, technical partners, etc.) in support of the Commvault solution.
  • Propose and professionally demonstrate Commvault SaaS products in a virtual way through the use of presentations, existing customer solutions, demos, whiteboarding, pilots, "proof-of-concepts", etc., with the use of digital technology.
  • Participate in sales and regional meetings, and QBRs, adding value and technical leadership on all topics (field marketing, qualifying, etc.).
  • Provide technical expertise and enablement support for the channel and alliance partners as needed.
  • Develop and maintain technical and market expertise through training, certifications, conferences, etc.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years in the IT industry—ideally in SaaS, cloud, software, or storage.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience serving in a customer-facing technical position, ideally in a pre-sales/sales engineer role.
  • Good presentation skills and supporting customers.
  • Market awareness of upcoming trends and competing solutions.
  • Comfortable with talking about technology and business.
  • Ideally in a customer-facing role to present, demonstrate, and deliver a PoC.
  • Ability to work in a rapid growth environment where priorities, roles, and responsibilities are continuously updated to meet market and customer demands.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated proficiency with at least one major technology: operating systems, VMs, cloud, databases, K8s or Microsoft 365.
  • Excellent written, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain business relationships.
  • Ability to work in an organized, procedural manner using tools such as Salesforce.com to facilitate process and information organization.
  • Relevant industry certification(s), cloud as a preference.
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the sales cycle.
