Infrastructure Support Engineer - SRE Operations Job in Bangalore at J.P. Morgan India

JP Morgan Chase & Co. is hiring for the role of Infrastructure Support - Mainframe SRE Operations!

Responsibilities of the Candidates:

• Proactively monitor, perform wellness checks, and observe the status of Mainframe Production and Development environments to ensure optimal performance and availability.
• Utilize enterprise monitoring and triage tools to identify and resolve system issues promptly, minimizing downtime and maintaining Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Conduct root cause analysis to determine the underlying causes of system problems, preventing recurrence and improving overall system stability.
• Provide second-level problem detection, determination, and resolution support, escalating critical issues to senior engineers when necessary.
• Engage with vendors to address hardware and software maintenance issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing impact on operations.
• Maintain event logs and outage reports to track system performance, identify trends, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with hardware and software patch/product updates, ensuring compatibility and maintaining system integrity.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of automation scripts and tools to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's/Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
• 4+ years’ experience in Mainframe Operations
• Knowledge of Mainframe IPL (Initial Program Load), Hardware Break fixes, and  Basic knowledge of Storage function will be an advantage
• Ability to follow policies and procedures; attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making ability around complex problems
• Ability to think creatively to deliver solutions through continuous improvement
• Strong desire and skills in identifying and implementing automation opportunities
• Ability to learn and apply technical information in a fast-paced, demanding work environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in using Microsoft Projects, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
