Infrastructure & Enterprise Engineer I Job in Gurgaon at Expedia

Expedia is hiring for the role of Infrastructure & Enterprise Engineer I!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Diagnose and resolve technical observability issues escalated by Operations & Insights teams.
• Maintain the effectiveness of alerting platforms and develop observability solutions for new business requirements.
• Respond promptly to alerts, providing resolution and creating runbooks, user guides, and related documentation.
• Identify automation opportunities to enhance monitoring and quickly detect issues, improving the operations support model.
• Review application architecture and recommend improvements.
• Ensure accurate reporting on the availability and resiliency of Expedia Group brands (Expedia, Hotels.com, Vrbo) and business lines (Lodging, Cars, Flights, etc.).
• Peer review observability changes from other system engineers and promote best practices.
• Collaborate across teams to solve complex technical problems, coordinating stakeholder input when needed.
• Execute tasks and provide data to support holistic solutions connecting people, process, structures, and technology.
• Continuously expand knowledge of company infrastructure, proactively addressing user requirements and escalating issues when necessary.

Requirements:

• 1+ year of experience in a technical role, preferably in a team environment with 5+ engineers.
• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of experience or Master’s degree with 1-2 years of experience.
• Hands-on experience deploying and managing projects/products in public or hybrid cloud infrastructure.
• Exposure to observability platforms such as Datadog, Splunk, or Catchpoint.
• Strong proficiency in one programming language and familiarity with others, especially JavaScript, Selenium, or Python.
• Understanding of API integration and data access patterns.
• Broad infrastructure knowledge with expertise in at least one area, including experience with cloud IaaS solutions like AWS.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code concepts and automation practices.
• Experience in system and OS testing tools, with the ability to debug infrastructure and application issues.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, with an understanding of how policies and processes align with business needs.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work across teams and solve technical challenges
