Fortive is hiring for the role of Hardware Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Design, develop, and maintain hardware for embedded devices and systems focusing on Fieldbus communication.
• Create and optimize circuit layouts for fieldbus-based encoder products (e.g., PROFINET, EtherCAT, Ethernet IP, Profibus DP).
• Commission and test hardware layouts to ensure functionality.
• Conduct EMC testing and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
• Prepare and execute fieldbus-specific certification tests.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for integration and validation of new product designs.
• Contribute to building and improving the Fieldbus development team.
• Enhance Fieldbus encoder products based on customer feedback.
• Travel internationally (~40% during onboarding and ~20% thereafter).

Requirements:

• Proven experience in hardware design and circuit layout.
• University degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Expertise in Ethernet technology and protocols.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working with global R&D teams.
• Familiarity with related areas such as hardware/software development, system testing, and type testing.
• Experience with system-on-chip solutions like Hilscher netX is an advantage.
