Graduate Process Engineer Job in Ahmedabad at Mott MacDonald

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Conceptualize equipment layouts, review P&IDs, and data sheets, and perform equipment sizing calculations.
• Learn and apply Indian and international codes and standards relevant to the process domain.
• Specify piping materials and valves, ensuring compliance with design specifications.
• Scale up process designs and review engineering deliverables from concept to completion.
• Prepare Process Block/Flow Diagrams and select appropriate materials of construction.
• Develop time cycles of operations, and perform material and energy balance calculations.
• Assist in the basic design of process equipment such as reactors, heat exchangers, scrubbers, pumps, and distillation units.
• Specify and evaluate proprietary equipment like filters, dryers, and centrifuges.
• Develop Instrumentation and Control schemes and prepare Instrumentation Process Data Sheets (IPDS).
• Participate in safety studies, HAZOP reviews, and specify pressure-relief devices.

Requirements:

• B.E/M.E. in Chemical Engineering with relevant experience, preferably in process design within an engineering consultancy.
• Strong understanding of chemical engineering concepts, with exposure to process layouts, safety studies, and material selection.
• Ability to interpret process flow diagrams and perform equipment sizing calculations.
• Familiarity with instrumentation and control systems in chemical processes.
• Collaborative mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
