Mott MacDonald is hiring for the role of Graduate Electrical Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Design (Concept, FEED, and Detail Design) of Transmission and Distribution systems up to 400kV for Utility companies across various regions, adhering to international standards.
• Develop HV/LV Distribution systems for Oil & Gas, WIND, and BESS projects (preferred).
• Execute Primary and Secondary system designs, including Key SLDs, Protection & Control SLDs, schematics, AC/DC SLDs, LVAC system design, and cable/interconnection schedules.
• Create indoor and outdoor lighting designs using Dialux or vendor software, and perform calculations for earthing and lightning protection.
• Design layouts (outdoor switchyards, indoor substations, trenches, earthing, etc.) and review them from technical and quality perspectives.
• Conduct system studies in ETAP/SKM, performing load flow, short circuit, motor starting, and relay setting studies.
• Calculate equipment sizes (Transformers, Generators, HV/LV cables, UPS, Capacitor Banks) and develop technical specifications for electrical equipment.
• Review vendor drawings and schematics for compliance and accuracy.
• Coordinate with cross-discipline teams and the head office to ensure effective project delivery.
• Manage and guide design teams to meet project timelines while ensuring profitability.
• Mentor junior staff, sharing technical knowledge and best practices.

Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Experience in electrical design for Transmission and Distribution systems, including GIS and outdoor switchyards (up to 400kV AC).
• Familiarity with design software such as Dialux and ETAP.
• Proficiency with MS Office and basic knowledge of AutoCAD or 3D modeling tools like Revit.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in a team environment.
• Self-motivated and innovative, with a strong desire to learn new skills and improve processes.
• Willingness to undertake short-term, out-of-town assignments if required.
