Burns & McDonnell is hiring for the role of GIS Specialist!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Assist in creating and maintaining GIS maps and spatial datasets using ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online.
• Work with GIS databases (SDE in ArcGIS Software) to store and manage spatial data.
• Perform basic spatial analysis and mapping to support projects.
• Help manage GIS data in Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) (Bonus).
• Learn and use GIS tools like FME Desktop/Server or other open-source GIS software (Bonus).
• Support automation of GIS workflows using Python, JavaScript, SQL, or C sharp (Bonus).
• Work with other teams to integrate GIS data into business processes.

Requirements:

• Required: 1-3 years of experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
• Master’s in Geoinformatics or Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or any relevant field.
• Bonus: Experience using GIS in the utility sector.
• Basic working knowledge of Esri software and GIS principles.
• Some exposure to database management and spatial data processing.
• Willingness to learn new GIS tools and automation techniques.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
