Financial Planning Analyst Job in Bangalore at Pearson

Pearson is hiring for the role of Financial Planning Analyst!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Process financial data efficiently and accurately.
• Prepare variance analysis and monthly management reporting packs.
• Assist in providing value-added financial analysis to Finance Business Partners.
• Manage accruals and adjustment journal entries as required.
• Support Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting cycles, ensuring timely system updates.
• Ensure performance targets are met and service levels are upheld.
• Reconcile data between source ERPs (Oracle/Hyperion) and reporting tools.
• Review output from our Bangalore-based BPO team.
• Identify and implement process improvement initiatives.
• Support ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis as needed.
• Foster collaboration across PFS and business divisions to enhance service delivery.

Requirements:

• Part-qualified or qualified accountant (or equivalent strong relevant experience).
• Proven ability to review and analyse financial data, supporting decision-making.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (v-lookups, sum-ifs, pivot tables, etc.).
• Strong communication skills, able to interact effectively with finance and non-finance professionals.
• Experience with finance ERP systems (Oracle preferred but not essential).
• Ability to work to strict financial deadlines and prioritise tasks accordingly.
• A team player with a customer-service-driven mindset.
