Wells Fargo is hiring for the role of Financial Crimes Specialist!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Participating in complex initiatives and identifying opportunities for process improvements within the scope of responsibilities
• Performing risk assessment and modeling to provide input and recommendations for financial crime strategies and models
• Evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, and internal controls
• Conducting data and onsite reviews, reviewing findings, determining risk levels, and recommending fraud prevention strategies
• Reviewing and assessing business, operational, or technical assignments or challenges that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives, and exercising independent judgment to guide medium-risk deliverables.
• Performing investigative research, root cause evaluation, and consulting regarding complex financial crime transactions, policy violations, and suspicious situations with moderate to high risk
• Performing detailed examinations to detect transactional and relationship patterns, trends, anomalies, and schemes across multiple businesses or products
• Acting as an escalation point for more complex cases
• Presenting recommendations for resolving more complex situations and exercise independent judgment while developing full knowledge proficiency in the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
• Taking action on control failures in bank processes and procedures.
• Representing the organization in handling court appearances, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations.
• Collaborating and consulting with associates on all levels.
• Leading, participating in, and providing support for projects and initiatives.
• Providing input to the development and delivery of a wide range of individual education for financial crime awareness.
• Preparing documentation and referring cases for Suspicious Activity, Identity Theft Operations, and Suspected Financial Abuse reports to government agencies, and making recommendations to management.

Requirements:

• 5+ years' experience in Financial Crimes - AML Investigations/Transaction Monitoring, Operational Risk, Fraud, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery, Corruption, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
