Varian is hiring for the role of Field Service Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Many VMS clients necessitate that employees and representatives meet specific Vendor Credentialing requirements before allowing access to their sites.
• Unless restricted by law, this position must meet all Vendor Credentialing requirements for full client access and maintain these credentials throughout VMS employment.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair designated VMS equipment within an assigned service territory, including performing preventative maintenance, installations, and upgrades as per VMS guidelines.
• Manage time effectively to handle preventative maintenance, installations, upgrades, and incoming customer calls, prioritizing requests and ensuring follow-through.
• Recognize when to escalate incidents or request assistance from more experienced representatives, particularly when dealing with challenging customer issues.
• Diagnose and resolve complex customer issues, meeting established Field Service Representative (FSR) performance levels.
• Maintain effective territory management, including timely completion of field service and expense reports, consignment management, and necessary documentation in line with VMS procedures.

Requirements:

• Limited use and application of technical documentation, standards, principles, and techniques in the field.
• Utilize acquired job skills and company policies to complete assigned tasks.
• Knowledge and professional experience with tools and test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, digital volt meters, torque wrenches, and other electronic and electro-mechanical engineering test equipment used for verification, checkout, and calibration of electronic equipment.
• Professional technical experience with micro-computers/PC-based systems.
• Basic computer usage and debugging skills.
• Fundamental knowledge of networks and networking techniques.
• Basic understanding of imaging systems.
• Capable of performing routine maintenance, including follow-ups, planned services, and minor technical bulletins.
• Basic knowledge of accelerator theory.
