Excel HER: Simulation Engineer Job in Bangalore at Volvo

VOLVO is hiring for the role of Excel HER: Simulation Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Perform calculation and simulation on the charging unit, HV cables, and junction boxes.
  
• Build CFD Models with the required quality.
  
• Verify components/systems/simulation setups.
  
• Support design teams with technical know-how.
  
• Be proactive in the global network between CAE groups within Vehicle Engineering and Electromobility to share knowledge and method development needs/processes.
  
• Write technical reports and provide results of CFD & Thermal Analysis for input in technical requirements, knowledge management systems, methods guidelines, and technical solutions.
  
• Understand and apply new methods regarding calculation models, algorithms, simulation, and calculation software on projects.
  
• Establish correlation activities to verify the CFD models.
  
• Participate in FMEA activity.

Requirements:

• Mandatory Skill Sets:
  • Numerical simulations 1D/3D knowledge.
  • Experience in tools like Star CCM+, and GT suit.
  • Strong understanding of Mechanical Engineering fundamentals.
  • Basic understanding of various manufacturing processes, especially regarding plastics, composites, sheet metal, and porous materials.
  • Understanding Material behavior and mechanics is a must.
  • Good exposure to create scripts for pre & post-processing.
• Secondary Skill Sets:
  • Knowledge of testing and validation of components and systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge of working with MATLAB Simulink, Python scripting (Good to have) & Machine Learning (Good to have).
• Education & Experience Required:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in mechanical engineering/Automobile Engineering/Production/Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience within 2 - 5 years in the simulation domain.
