Excel HER: Mechanical Design Engineer Job in Bangalore at Volvo

Volvo is hiring for the role of Excel HER: Mechanical Design Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry, and society at large at Volvo GTT Emob.
• Perform thermal simulation of all electrical distribution components within the Power Conversion team in Electromobility as a passionate engineer.
• Work in all engineering phases, from advanced engineering to concept generation, detailed development, and industrialization as an Excel HER.
• Design battery packs to help reduce CO2 during the design and development process.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in mechanical engineering/Automobile Engineering/Production/Industrial Engineering
• Strong understanding of Mechanical Engineering fundamentals
• Basic understanding of various manufacturing processes, especially regarding plastics, composites, sheet metal, and porous materials
• Understanding Material behavior and mechanics is a must
• Knowledge of testing and validation of components and systems is a plus
• Past experience in automotive component development (either in industry or as part of an academic thesis) is a plus
• Experience in CAD tools like Creo is a plus
