Engineering Manager Job in Hyderabad at Teradata

Teradata is hiring for the post of Engineering Manager!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Responsible for leading the engineering team for development and delivery of Telemetry and Observability product enhancements, quality, and release activities
• Candidate will be expected to technically interact with the team to design/develop/review/execute on product development strategies and plans
• Candidate will effectively inspire and lead a distributed, collaborative, and cross-functional high performing team in a flexible, fast-paced work environment
• Manage team members including setting objectives, reviewing performance, hiring, talent management, establishing a positive and collaborative working environment
• Manage project risks, defects, and issues with action plans; develop contingency plans for schedule slips and project issues
• Lead resolution of inter-organizational issues relative to schedule and availability; report progress and escalate issues as required to Management to ensure prompt resolution
• Collaborate effectively with the other internal organizations, engineering teams, architects, PM, and Field organizations on product content, dependencies, priorities, and delivery schedules.
• Proactively offer insight and solutions to business-driven issues

Requirements:

• Previous supervisory experience of 2 or more years with strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience working in cloud-native, services-oriented development environments and good understanding of one or more public cloud platforms i.e. AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
• Strong prior experience in development/engineering and knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python and Go
• Ability to effectively deal with challenging situations, setting up and managing expectations.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts concisely and effectively
• Ability to lead, plan and manage a complex project with strong sense of ownership and accountability
• Working experience in Agile Software Development with strong data driven management approach
