Gigamon Solutions is hiring for the job role of Engineering Lab Operations Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Collaborate with engineering, system test, and operations teams to support production development and testing.
• Deploy new servers and network devices for production and testing infrastructure, apply configuration changes, perform cabling, and troubleshoot initial configuration to ensure smooth and efficient integration into the Lab ecosystem, while adhering to industry best practices and maintaining high levels of reliability and performance.
• Utilize servers and network troubleshooting tools, including network packet captures, monitoring devices, log files, and customer input, to facilitate effective issue resolution, identification of root causes, and implementation of targeted solutions to ensure optimal network functionality and customer satisfaction.
• Manage customer requests and priorities in alignment with the product releases and business priorities.
• Proactively monitor and manage Lab capacities: Space/Power/Cooling, Network, Test Infrastructure, and Device Under Test Lifecycles.

 Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, CE, IT/IS, or related field, or equivalent experience with training and certifications.
• Proficiency with deployment, provisioning, and troubleshooting compute, storage, and networking devices such as servers, switches, and routers.
• Proficiency with virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi).
• Familiarity with data center and/or Corp IT Compute and Network Infrastructure and Security.
• Understanding of Systems Security: Network security and file permissions, hands-on experience with periodic security patching for operating systems and applications.
• Hands-on experience and knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu, Cumulus) and general systems administration and core services knowledge (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, NFS, etc.).
• Familiarity working in a data center environment and knowledge of data center procedures, including cable and rack labeling, provisioning and decommissioning hardware, base O/S installation, asset management, cable dressing, creation, and maintenance of rack elevation diagrams, and working with electrical and cooling systems.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze various situations, troubleshoot compute and network issues, and apply creative problem-solving abilities under pressure.
• Being detail-oriented, accurate, consistent, and operating with high integrity in this line of work is a must.
• Ability to physically rack and stack servers and network devices, including lifting and moving up to 50 pounds of equipment safely.
• Working onsite at the Engineering Data Center location.
• Proficiency in the Data Center Infrastructure and provisioning of Power/Cooling and Network connectivity.
• Weekend and after-hours work are occasionally necessary for maintenance or incident response.
