Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Maintained and troubleshooted process monitoring tools, supporting and providing improvement ideas for process control, Base layer control (DCS), and advanced process control.
• Develop competencies within the Process Control Team
• Maximize benefits from Process Control applications, both APC and base-layer
• Provide concept to commissioning support for all Process Control applications
• Support Operations in base-layer and advanced process controls
• Support and implement automation by optimizing process control and investigating process control-related issues by coordinating with process experts.
• Responsible for DCS programming, designing, commissioning, and implementation of Advanced Process Control Solutions.
• Perform tasks of developing and implementing process control to support capacity increase and safe operations within plant processes.
• Handle tasks of identifying and testing changes to the process by using sophisticated modeling and by using dynamic simulation methods.
• Handle responsibilities of reducing production costs and reducing the workload required to operate units by reducing manual operation and DCS operator Interventions.
• Responsible for control modeling and optimization processes to increase profitability by meeting product specifications and quality of the products.
• Network with counterparts and other levels of organization across the different operating units, and data centres and develop external networks with global Shell assets and subject matter experts
• Support team members on projects to enhance their technical knowledge

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Instrumentation engineering or equivalent qualifications
• Experience in designing, developing, implementing, and commissioning Advanced Process control and Base layer control strategies is mandatory.
• Experience with PACE, SMOC, DMC, etc
• Experience in troubleshooting and solving problems with controllers and other process-related issues in process control. DCS application is preferred
• Experience in Honeywell/Yokogawa/Emerson control systems is required.
• Experience working as a technologist, process control, and automation is preferable.
• Experience in the Oil & Gas / Chemicals Sector is required.
• Knowledge of Instrumentation engineering, both field and control systems, is an advantage.
• Awareness of understanding of Safety Instrument Function/Safety Integrity Level is preferred
• Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Good coaching and mentoring skills
• The ability to prioritize and multi-task miscellaneous projects.
