Bajaj Electricals is hiring for the role of Engineer-Hardware Designer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Develop, debug, and test analog and digital power electronic circuits for lighting application
• Design and selection of components like magnetics, FETs, IGBTs, SCRs, ICs, micro-controllers etc.
• Simulate the design, create schematics/board layout, and prepare a functional prototype
• Carry out validation and reliability testing of components and circuit
• Formulate SOPs and carry out tests as per standard
• Come up with new ideas and innovations that can solve consumer pain points
• Maintain test records, analyze and share observations/suggestions with the relevant stakeholders
• Carry out root cause analysis of failed samples and plan for corrective actions
• Evaluate LED driver suppliers on the required parameters & formulate a test plan
• Carry our process improvements at the supplier
• Gracefully adjust to meet changing circumstances such as reorganizations, reassignment of project priority, changes in strategic direction, and customer needs
• Handle ambiguity in problem definition, have a good handle on business value, and have the initiative to shape problems and projects so that they deliver maximum impact.

Requirements:

• We are looking for a highly skilled product design engineer with knowledge of interdisciplinary engineering fundamentals in power electronics, who can define and design system-level approaches to solve fundamental consumer problems
• The candidate must have the highest level of ingenuity and creativity and can work on multiple parallel approaches while solving problems and arrive at the simplest, manufacturable, and cost-effective solution
• BE in Electricals or ‘E&E’
• 5-8 years of experience
• Power Electronics design, BLDC & Induction motor controllers, control & simulation for LED lamp drivers, Induction heaters, mixer grinder etc.
• Fundamentals of power electronics
• Strong background in EMI/EMC, high-frequency magnetics, and control systems
• Familiarity with simulation tools like Pspice, MATLAB, LTspice & SABER
• PCB layout design software skills like Altium, Orcad, etc.
• Good knowledge of different AC/DC converter topologies including high-frequency ones (Buck, boost, fly-back, HB/FB inverters)
• Strong communication skills
• Problem-solving skills at the system level.
