ICF is hiring for the role of Energy Market Analyst!!
Responsibilities of the Candidate:
- Collect and analyze data for power sector modelling (technology characterizations, regional load, energy demand, emissions control technologies)
- Perform production cost modelling and transmission congestion analysis of power markets
- Assist in modelling nodal power markets and asset valuation tasks
- Conduct load flow analysis of transmission and distribution systems (steady state, contingency, dynamic analysis)
- Lead data input/output processes and maintain datasets for nodal power market modelling
- Research and update on power market developments in ISO/RTO markets
- Perform advanced quantitative analysis of transmission systems globally
- Support modelling and policy analysis related to transmission, renewable energy, and smart grids
- Develop code and macros for large dataset management
- Prepare high-quality written and electronic products
Requirements:
- Master’s in Power/Energy systems or Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering required
- 1-2 years of experience in production cost modeling or economic power market analysis (including internships)
- Experience with industry-standard models like GE-MAPS, PROMOD, GridView, or PLEXOS
- Basic knowledge of power flow tools such as GE-PSLF, PSS/E, PowerWorld, CYMDIST
- Strong quantitative, modeling, database management, and data analysis skills
- Advantageous to know about linear optimization, energy, and environmental markets
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and VBA skills, including Excel macro programming and other languages
- Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Collaborative in working with project teams and clients to achieve goals
