Mott MacDonald Private Limited is hiring for the role of Electrical Engineer (Water)!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Design Electrical Distribution Systems for Low Voltage and High Voltage based on International standards for the Middle East, Europe, and South East Asia regions.
• Understand and work on various water and wastewater treatment processes and related engineering works, including Pumping Stations and Desalination STPs.
• Support global multi-disciplinary teams on Water/Waste Water projects.
• Prepare Design Basis, Load list, Cable schedule, Interconnection Schedule, Single Line Diagrams, schematics, and Bulk MTO.
• Have a good understanding of P & ID, Control philosophy, and control system architecture.
• Work with I/O lists, loop Diagrams, Instrument lists, and Instrument datasheets.
• Perform Equipment sizing calculations, including Transformer, Generator, HV/LV Cables, AC UPS, and Capacitor Banks.
• Perform indoor Lighting, outdoor area Illumination, and Street Illumination in Dialux or vendor software, and calculations for Earthing and Lightning Protection.
• Utilize System Studies software like ETAP, SKM, or Amtech to independently model electrical systems and carry out load flow, short circuit, motor starting, and protection relay setting studies.
• Prepare technical specifications and technical data sheets for Electrical Equipment, including Transformers, DG Sets, Switchgear, UPS, Battery chargers, Distribution Boards, VFDs, and Soft Starters.
• Manage teams using applications like Bentley AutoPlant, AutoDesk AutoCAD, AutoDesk AutoCAD 3D, or AutoDesk Revit MEP.
• Prepare Requests For Quotation (RFQ), and review technical offers, and relevant documents from Vendors.
• Prepare and evaluate Bid tabulation/documentation.
• Review vendor drawings for various Electrical Equipment and schematics for HV/LV systems.
• Apply broad practical knowledge to design Layouts, including Equipment Layouts for outdoor/indoor substations, trench/tray layouts, and lighting layouts, guiding technicians and reviewing from a technical/quality perspective.
• Coordinate with Designers, Architects, Structural Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Process Engineers, and any other external design consultants, if required.

Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university with at least 2 years of relevant work experience
• Relevant experience in Electrical design in a consultancy organisation for the Water Sector
• Conversant in Electrical design software – Dialux, ETAP
• Computer literacy in MS office-an understanding of AUTOCAD is essential
• Ability to work on one's own with the lead office as part of the integrated team
• Very good written and oral communication skills
• Self-motivated with a keen interest in learning new skills and adding value to the team/organization
