Developer 1 (Data Engineer) Job in Gurgaon at United Airlines

United Airlines is hiring for the role of Developer 1 (Data Engineer)!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Ensure that systems are properly integrated
• Work with business, support, or development teams to recommend system enhancements
• Develop, test, benchmark, and track the performance of solutions over time
• Consult across multiple United Information Technology projects and technology areas to perform troubleshooting, problem management, root-cause analysis, and solution implementation
• Serve as a resource for technology/project development review and technical assessments
• Ensure that the technical solutions meet the customers’ business goals
• Ensure consistency and coherence to the enterprise standards and guiding principles throughout the application lifecycle
• Identify opportunities to leverage/influence the direction of existing infrastructure and application components
• Keep abreast of industry trends through benchmarking, participation in professional associations, etc. to advise others of strategic technology direction
• Provide feedback to enterprise technology owners and Architects regarding future solution needs
• Design, test, benchmark, and track the performance of analytic solutions over time
• Work with teams across data organization to continually improve results by validating observations and insights and refining/enriching the data as needed

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related to Data Science or related field
• 2+ years of IT and business/industry work experience
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Python
• Previous experience as a data engineer or in a similar role
• Technical knowledge of data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques
• Great numerical and analytical skills
• 2+ years of experience with Cloud Automation Development Tools such as Git, Python/Bash/PowerShell Scripting
• 2+ years of experience building large-scale distributed applications with SQL, DynamoDB, NoSQL, and Design Patterns
• Exposure to AWS Cloud services (such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Cloud Trail, CloudFront, Lambda, EKS, and/or ECS)
• Knowledge and skills in using Linux environment
• Requires advanced technical and business knowledge in software development life cycle, quality assurance, project management, and other related disciplines/processes
• Excellent knowledge of Object-Oriented systems design and Application Development
• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
• Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship
• Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)
