Doyensys is hiring for the role of DBA Trainee!

Responsibilities of Candidate:

• Database Monitoring: Assist in monitoring the performance and availability of databases to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Database Maintenance: Help perform routine maintenance tasks such as backups, updates, and patch installations to keep the database systems up-to-date and secure.
• Troubleshooting: Collaborate with senior DBAs to diagnose and troubleshoot database-related problems, resolving them efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Performance Optimization: Assist in tuning database performance, optimizing queries, and improving database response times.
• Security Management: Learn and apply security best practices to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive data within the databases.
• Backup and Recovery: Contribute to the implementation and testing of database backup and recovery procedures to safeguard critical data.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of database configurations, changes, and procedures.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the IT team, developers, and other stakeholders to understand database requirements and provide necessary support.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related fields.
• Basic understanding of database concepts, SQL, and database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, etc.).
• Familiarity with database design and normalization principles is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work well within a team and collaborate effectively with others.
• Eagerness to learn and a strong desire to pursue a career in database administration.
• Learning and Development: Stay updated with the latest database technologies, tools, and industry trends to continuously improve your skills.

Preferred Certifications (not mandatory but can be advantageous):

• Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) in Database Administration.
• Any other relevant certifications related to database management.
