DBA Manager Job in Bangalore at Acko

Acko is hiring for the role of DBA Manager!

Responsibilities of the Candidate: 

• Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of our NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) and SQL (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) database systems.
• Ensure high availability, performance tuning, and capacity planning for all database systems.
• Collaborate with software development teams to understand database requirements and provide solutions.
• Automate database tasks and integrate database management.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Implement and manage database security policies and backup/recovery procedures.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive continuous improvement in database management and DevOps practices.
• Lead and manage the DevOps team to develop and implement DevOps best practices.
• Provide training and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Proven experience as a DBA Manager or in a similar role with cloud DevOps experience
• Hands-on experience with DBA for NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Redis, etc.
• Hands-on experience with DBA for SQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.
• Strong knowledge of database architecture, design, and performance optimization
• Proficiency with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, and Terraform
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Experience with additional monitoring and logging tools
• Familiarity with service mesh and distributed tracing solutions (e.g., Jaeger, OpenTelemetry)
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with database migration and data warehousing solutions
  • Certification in DBA or cloud services (e.g., AWS Certified Database – Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate)
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Shell, or Perl
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack)
