Iris is hiring for the role of Database Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Design, develop, and optimize MS-SQL queries and stored procedures to support application and reporting requirements
• Lead performance tuning initiatives for SQL queries and database processes to ensure optimal execution and efficiency
• Oversee the design and development of ETL processes using IBM DataStage, ensuring data integrity and timely data movement
• Manage and configure database-related components on both Linux and Windows-based systems
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate databases within Java and microservices-based architectures
• Utilize DevOps tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, and RLM for version control, continuous integration, and release management
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and technical staff, ensuring clarity in requirements and deliverables
• Apply analytical thinking and creativity to identify and resolve database and system issues
• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring adherence to best practices in database development and administration
• Manage multiple priorities efficiently, delivering quality outcomes within defined timelines
• Lead root cause analysis and troubleshooting efforts for complex database-related issues in development and production environments

Requirements:

• Programming experience in writing MS-SQL queries, Stored Procedures, and query performance tuning.
• Experience designing and developing ETL processes using IBM DataStage.
• Understanding and familiarity of Linux and Windows based operating systems and be able to configure applications hosted on such systems
• Have good understanding of Java and Microservices.
• Experience with DevOps tools (GitHub, Jenkins, RLM)
• Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written).
• Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
