Data Specialist (Data Governance & Data Quality) Job in Gurgaon at Gartner

Gartner is hiring for the role of Data Specialist (Data Governance & Data Quality)!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Monitor QA dashboards for data inconsistencies; flag irregularities in data patterns and collaborate with PMs and Engineering to highlight and fix in a timely manner.
• Serve as an expert on our available data sets; be a go-to resource for data-related questions.
• Help to triage and prioritize all incoming requests; communicate and escalate any bugs/downtime to appropriate stakeholders.
• Work with Product Managers and CEOs to ensure the resolution of issues.
• Coordinate with Engineering to validate data flowing through tools before release.
• Investigate any issues that are raised by researchers, analysts, and Centers of Excellence during the final phase of data handoff for Digital IQs including validating data for requested scenarios using SQL queries and providing documented examples of data accuracy.
• Provide training to relevant stakeholders on what constitutes a legitimate data concern during the Digital IQ development process.
• Provide updates on the status to the Digital IQ Lead as applicable.
• Assist Business Intelligence leads with QA efforts during the handoff of Channel DIQs.
• Assist Methodology lead with data tests and validation for new data vendors & ongoing data vendor issues.
• Create tickets in Jira for any bugs and track their resolution with Product Managers.
• Update and provide data quality awareness to associates and senior leaders on cross-functional teams in a variety of settings including 1:1 engagements and relevant meetings.

Requirements:

• College degree in a related discipline.
• 1-2 years of experience in a data quality, data analyst, or database management role.
• Some experience working with reporting tools such as PowerBI.
• Some experience communicating with developers to build out tools or dashboards is preferred.
• Expertise in SQL with experience in data validation preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel), and G Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets).
• Experience with Jira or any similar Project Management tool
• Strong interest and love of data & data pipelines.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to perform gracefully under pressure and meet inflexible or shifting deadlines.
• Positive, diplomatic, objective solution-oriented approach to problems.
• Ability to perform as part of a global team as well as individually.
• Ability to prioritize effectively & communicate with stakeholders at various levels.
• Ability to clearly explain (both via written and verbal communication) data concerns raised by stakeholders to increase confidence in data health.
