Google is hiring for the role of Data Scientist!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Work with large, complex datasets to solve difficult, non-routine analysis problems, applying advanced problem-solving methods.
• Conduct analysis, including data gathering, requirements specification, processing, analysis, and ongoing deliverables and presentations.
• Make business recommendations (e.g., cost-benefit analysis, forecasting, experiment analysis) and present findings to multiple levels of stakeholders through visual displays of quantitative information.
• Research and develop methods for analysis, forecasting, and optimization to improve the quality of Google's user-facing products, such as ads quality, search quality, end-user behavior modeling, and live experiments.
• Support and shape new data-driven and privacy-preserving advertising and marketing products, collaborating with engineering, product, and customer-facing teams.
• Combine large-scale experimentation, statistical-econometric, machine learning, and social-science methods to answer business questions at scale.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Operations Research, Physics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, or a similar quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with statistical software (e.g., R, Python, S-Plus, SAS, or similar).
• Internship or work experience with data, including quantitative methodologies in statistics and causal inference.
• Preferably, PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Operations Research, Physics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, or similar quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with statistical data analysis, such as linear models, multivariate analysis, stochastic models, and sampling methods.
• Experience with machine learning on large datasets.
• Ability to draw conclusions from data and recommend actions.
• Ability to teach others and learn new techniques, such as differential privacy.
• Ability to select the right statistical tools for a given data analysis problem.
