PayPal is hiring for the role of Data Scientist!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Collaborate with the US. teams to perform quantitative analyses to drive credit risk strategies for PayPal credit card products      
• Mine data covers a wide range of information from user profiles to transaction details to solve risk problems that involve classification, clustering, pattern analysis, sampling, and simulations.
• Leverage data to support PayPal’s Cobrand Card business program and insights via monitoring, and reporting leveraging scalable and flexible platforms
• Conduct a 360 credit risk framework that covers risk lifecycle metrics and customer experience/engagement metrics for decisions and drive cross-team collaboration
• Conduct ongoing performance overview of the senior leadership team
• Carry out independent research and innovation in technological domains
• Troubleshoot any data, system and flow challenges while maintaining flawless strategy execution

Requirements:

• Master’s degree with 1-4 years of professional experience in related fields. Job levels may be adjusted to match the experiences of candidates
• The data-driven mindset with a degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, and Mathematics
• Proven experience in employing quantitative analyses to solve real-world problems
• Proficient in data mining and familiar with SQL, BigQuery, SAS, Python, and other big data tools
• Must be an intuitive, organized analytical thinker, with the ability to drive analyses from end to end
• Industry experience in financial services, especially consumer lending is a plus
• Good written and verbal communication skills to influence cross-functional teams that span across multiple geographical locations
