Google is hiring for the role of Data Center Technician, Global Server Operations!
Responsibilities of the Candidate:
- Contribute and lead efforts/projects in the deployment, maintenance, and support of current and new data center infrastructure.
- Install servers, switches, routers, and other networking gear, and resolve issues with broken equipment. Configure and troubleshoot Linux OS-related issues.
- Assist in deploying, repairing, and troubleshooting next-generation ML platforms providing feedback to local deployment/project teams.
- Participate in complex troubleshooting and resolve critical technical issues. Test and troubleshoot new server and network hardware components and designs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with operating systems and networking protocols.
- Experience with LPIC or working with Linux (e.g., Red Hat, Slackware, Fedora, SUSE, Ubuntu, Debian, Gentoo), Unix (e.g., Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, BSD), or other similar OS.
- Experience with troubleshooting hardware or network issues using Linux tools.
- Experience in maintenance and monitoring of server systems.
- Experience in working within a data center or networking operation center environment.
- Experience with networking protocols.
