Berclays is hiring for the role of Data Analyst!

Responsibilities:

•  Define functional/non-functional requirements with the stakeholders
• Identify and assess potential data sources
• Agree scope and priorities
• Carry out Impact Assessment and create user stories
• Define business transformation rules from source system through to consumer interface
• Build and maintain knowledge of data sources and what data is used by a particular Consumer
• Definition of data models and metadata in line with business requirements
• Validate data model is in line with projected data growth, non-functional requirements and changing consumer patterns
• Educate users on PBTV capabilities, the data available, what it means and how to access it

Mandatory Technical Skills

• Data modelling and data analysis skills in a data warehouse type environment
• Data warehouse background is essential
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills (for MS SQL Server). Comfortable at the SQL command prompt
• Strong analytical skills
• Understand types of data schema and when to use them (3NF, star, flat, etc); mapping/translation between these;
• Understand data exchange methods, coordination of data feeds and mechanics of data integration. Autosys.
• Translate and map between schemata
• Understand, describe and define data lineages and flows (e.g. Data Flow diagramming)
• ER Studio / ERWIN
• Express key structural points of complex data model in accessible terms
• Entity-relation diagramming
• Experience undestanding source data models with different architectures and limited documentation

Education Qualification

• Graduate preferably with a technology based degree

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Experience of working in Financial domain is preferred
• ETL tools; ability to use and enhance new tooling
• SQLServer / Hadoop
• Working in agile mode
