GE Vernova is hiring for the role of Control Software Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Be responsible for overall requirements, design, implementation, and testing of HVDC Control and Protection application software.
• Work as part of an expert team, giving ample opportunity for learning design and development skills highly relevant for working with any control and protection system; in particular, power electronics systems and grid technology.
• Execute the analysis, simulation, test, and integration required to define, and support assigned components, modules or systems that meet business standards.
• Apply prior experience and on-the-job training to solve problems. Propose and discuss different solutions and develop in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline with guidance.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.

Requirements:

• Engineering degree in Computer Science or power systems and power electronics subjects or proven equivalent knowledge and experience in HVDC business.
• Familiar with the design and development of event and rate-driven application software for control and protection systems.
• Understand functional characteristics of power systems and interactions between AC and HVDC systems.
• Knowledge of PSCAD and MATLAB-SIMULINK simulation tools.
• Familiar with Agile Software development practices.
• Experience using Git, Jira, and Confluence for version control, task/defect management and documentation. 
• Strong written/verbal communication skills and a can-do attitude.
