Responsibilities of the Candidate:
 
  • Overseeing and monitoring compliance with applicable laws and regulations of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the relevant rules thereunder, on behalf of the organization and its apps and products.
  • Working closely and creatively with cross-functional teams, including the legal team of the organization, in reviewing and addressing governmental regulations and policies.
  • Managing effective relationships, including on matters of compliance, with key government agencies and regulators in close collaboration with the internal team of the organization.
  • Providing compliance support and guidance to the internal teams coordinating with government and law enforcement agencies and handling user grievances.
  • Providing feedback to internal teams and leadership regarding the design and operation of the organization's compliance with applicable regulations, the key issues, the emerging trends, and the effectiveness of compliance program operations, resourcing, and external understanding.
  • Identifying, proposing, and supporting effective processes and technical solutions to facilitate compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensuring that the organization stays abreast with current and anticipated regulations as well as industry best practices.
  • Adopting responsibility and ensuring due diligence is exercised with respect to the organization's obligations under the information technology laws, specifically the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
  • Participating in hearings and proceedings before courts or regulatory authorities involving the organization. This may require you to appear in your personal capacity or as a representative of the organization in such proceedings.
