Microsoft is hiring for the role of Cloud Network Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Handle projects from design to implementation.
• Collaborate with internal business units and stakeholders and understand the requirements to deliver efficiently.
• Automate repetitive tasks to reduce implementation time and avoid failure due to human error.
• Participate in periodic on-call rotation for network incident support, quickly mitigate the impact, and restore service availability through a software-enabled toolset.
• Evangelize best network engineering practices and processes within and across teams.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of technical experience in network design, development, and automation
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
• The ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements is required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
• 2+ years of experience in the networking industry or large-scale data center network
• Experience working with L2/L3 switching platforms, application networking, and network protocols like BGP, OSPF, VRRP, LACP
• Experience working in large-scale data center/cloud environments with an understanding of passive components (UTP Cabling, Optical cabling)
• Experience in one or more programming languages: C++, Java, Python, Perl
• Experience in understanding and authoring machine-readable formats like XML, JSON
• Excellent communication skills and team player with the ability to build solid relationships at all levels, across teams, geographies, and business functions
• Experience in solving broad business problems and analytical skills
• Excellent judgment, decision-making skills, and the ability to work under continual deadline pressure when the situation is ambiguous
• Strong negotiation skills and conflict management skills
