Cloud Engineer (Application Modernization) Job in Pune at Google

Google is hiring for the role of Cloud Engineer (Application Modernization)!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Be a trusted technical advisor to customers and design and build complex applications.
• Maintain the highest levels of development practices (e.g., technical design, solution development, systems configuration, test documentation/execution, issue identification, and resolution) writing clean, modular and self-sustaining code, with repeatable quality and predictability.
• Work with customers to design technical architectures, migration approaches, and application optimizations.
• Create and deliver best practices recommendations, tutorials, blog articles, sample code, and technical presentations adapting to different levels of key business and technical stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of experience in one or more languages such as Java, Python, Go, or similar.
• 3 years of experience in managing internal or client-facing projects to completion, troubleshooting clients' technical issues, and working with engineering teams, sales, services, and customers.
• Experience with internet-facing production-grade applications.
• Ability to travel as needed and expected travel can be up to 30% depending on the region.
• Preferred:
  • Experience refactoring legacy monolithic applications to microservices, APIs, and/or serverless models.
  • Experience with DevOps practices, including infrastructure as code, continuous integration, and automated deployment.
  • Experience with DevOps tools such as Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos, OpenStack, and Jenkins.
  • Experience in open-source server software such as RabbitMQ, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
  • Experience with unit or automated testing tools such as Junit, and scalable networking technologies such as Load Balancers, Firewalls, and web standards.
