Deutsche Bank Group is hiring for the role of Clearing and Settlement Analyst!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

  • Recognize potential issues and take appropriate action, including escalation to management when necessary.
  • Prepare, verify, and send swift instructions to depositories and agents.
  • Resolve problems arising from unmatched items and implement long-term solutions for frequently occurring issues.
  • Prepare pending trades reports and communicate with custodian agents to identify settlement issues over the telephone or via provided systems.
  • Assist in reconciling cash accounts against agent bank statements and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Identify cash or other discrepancies in books and records and follow up until resolved.
  • Escalate all issues properly and promptly to the appropriate level to avoid any adverse impact on the business.
  • Analyze processes for re-engineering opportunities.
  • Support the client services team in resolving settlement issues for clients.
  • Assist in creating proper backups through adequate cross-training within the department.
  • Process the workload of other team members to ensure load balancing within the team.
  • Conduct UAT of applications and document observations.
  • Be innovative and come up with ideas to automate processes, continuously improving efficiency.
  • Assist the team in resolving day-to-day production-related queries.

Requirements:

  • Education
    • MBA or Bachelor’s degree in Finance-related subjects with relevant experience. MBA preferred
    • Certification in securities is an added advantage
  • Preferred Work Experience
    • Experience in an Investment Bank, Custodian, or Security Market Intermediary
    • 2-3 years of work experience in securities, settlements, reconciliation, or other custodian-related activities
    • Exposure to working with Global Custodians
    • Experience in the deployment of technology projects related to securities is valuable
