Business Development Responsibilities:

  • Identify revenue focused business opportunities & develop contacts for new leads / projects & demonstrate success in converting self-generated leads or referrals into successful Projects. [Focus on Customer acquisition strategies]
  • Developing and facilitating the proposal process for clients including budgeting and pricing development, proposal writing, contract negotiations, market research, and involvement in client presentations.
  • Front-end business development & marketing of energy, water efficiency (and solid waste management) services (including in energy intensive industries).
  • Leading and owning specific proposals through all stages of development from concept to implementation and to tailor-make solutions to client's needs.
  • Develop and execute strategies with each client to ensure maximum leverage and maximize revenue impact to the company. [Focus on Up selling / cross selling of energy and water efficiency services]
  • Research, identify, and pursue opportunities for additional business with existing clients where appropriate.
  • Analyse and develop a penetration plan to increase DESL client base.

Job description

  • Promotion and marketing : Market profiling, Strategy development-campaign (periodic & ongoing), Running of campaign/managing website, Impact evaluation
  • Market research and intelligence: Identification of sources & monitoring of data & information, Tracking & information sharing, Competitors tracking/evaluation, Analysis of prospect & leads, Strategy development.
  • Client relationship management: Remaining in continuous touch with key stakeholders (GOI (BEE, MNRE, EESL, MOHUA, NIUA), Identified key clients, Vendors, project developers developers, industry associations associations etc); Making presentations in seminars/workshops; Close interactions with vertical heads and project managers; Proposal making & initial client interface; Continuous improvement of service offerings & proposal documentation; Assisting vertical heads and projectmanager in selling; Managing prospects & leads
  • Selling: Strategizing ( on lead management-resource deployment, pricing etc),
  • Negotiation and Conversion of lead to projects

Essential

  • Provoking clients to “why-didn’t-we-think-of-that” solutions.
  • Ability to influence and persuade, to achieve desired outcomes whilst dealing with the client.
  • To identify & develop relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.
  • Negotiate and close contractual agreements & as well as focus on the details of implementation of the contract.

  • Dynamic, innovative, lateral thinker & naturally proactive and resilient, having an eye for business opportunities.
  • Work experience desirable
  • An engineering graduate preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical with an in-depth knowledge of fundamental engineering concepts & entrepreneurial skills
  • Familiarity in conceptual marketing / consultancy services marketing with a flair to assess the requirements of the customer.
  • At least 7 years proven experience - preferably in a traditional marketing management role, demonstrated project selling & project management skills and be highly numerate, with analytical and planning skills.
  • Tech savvy with a view to Techno-Economic-Commercial feasibility of the project.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical solutions to a non-technical individual & clearly define benefits that translate into value to the client.
  • Exposure to energy and water performance monitoring and verification strategies & protocols.
  • Initiated or implemented energy efficiency procedures leading in energy savings.
