BI ETL Engineer Job in Chennai at Navis

Navis is hiring for the role of BI ETL Engineer!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Understand business requirements in the BI context and design data models to convert raw data to meaningful insights
• Consult with data management teams to get a big picture of the product and provide solutions
• Design and code the data warehousing system to desired product specifications
• Conduct preliminary testing of the warehousing environment before data is extracted
• Extract and store data in Cloud Environments
• Reconcile the data with source vs Target
• Troubleshoot any issues that may arise
• Provide maintenance support
• Be responsible for deployment and reconciling data
• Identify KPIs with clear objectives and monitor them consistently
• Analyze data and present it through reports that can help in decision-making
• Convert business requirements into technical specifications and decide the timeline to accomplish tasks
• Create charts and document data with algorithms, parameters, models, and relationship explanations
• Conduct data warehouse development
• Perform SQL querying for best results
• Use filters and graphs for a better understanding of the data
• Define and design new systems by analyzing current ETL processes
• Make technical changes to existing BI systems to enhance their functioning
• Reconcile the data with source vs Target
• Troubleshoot any issues that may arise

Requirements:

• At least 2-4 years of experience in any one of the ETL tools, like Pentaho PDI Kettle, Informatica, SSIS, Talend, etc
• Coverage of dimensional modeling techniques
• Work experience with PostgreSQL, MSSQL, or MSSQL and ORACLE, or any combination of these RDBMS
• Ability to write stored procedures
• Exposure to PDI, caching mechanisms (nice to have)
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash, Perl, etc)
• Knowledge of programming languages (JavaScript, Java, C++, etc)
• Exposure to Kafka and Kafka-based data processing and transformation
• Specialization in database engineering skills (SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, etc)
• Exposure to warehousing architecture processes (MOLAP, ROLAP, EDW, etc)
• Sufficient knowledge of OLAP, SSAS, and MDX
• Understanding of modeling tools (Toad Data Modeler, Erwin, etc)
• Parameterization of ETL jobs for better time management
• Exposure to Cloud Deployments like AWS, Azure, and Google will add value
• Proven work experience as a BI Reports developer will be an added value
• Data analysis, thinking, and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems
• Experience in Cloud Deployments like AWS, Azure, and Google
