Barclays is hiring for the role of AVP - Mumbai Financial Control!

Responsibilities of the Candidate:

• Be able to review all regulatory returns produced for the RBI by the team.
• Review and challenge the data and supplementary analysis submitted by different teams.
• Liaison with external statutory and regulatory, concurrent and internal auditors to ensure clean and seamless audits.
• Monitor and review the risk and controls framework for the Financial Control function including documentation of these controls and ensuring the controls are operating effectively.
• Respond to ad-hoc information requests from RBI and other regulators.
• Review and analyse the impact of new regulatory returns for the financial regulatory reporting area.
• Manage a team of people involved in regulatory reporting.
• Act as a coach and mentor for more junior staff.
• Perform prioritisation of the team's workload.
• Conduct performance appraisals at the half-year and year-end.
• Preparation of the monthly reporting packs for senior management.

Requirements:

• Mandatory:
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant
  • Complete understanding of the Reserve Bank of India guidelines as they apply to a foreign bank in India across retail, corporate and investment bank products
  • Good understanding of RBI regulations around BASEL III, Capital Adequacy norms, ALM norms, and Treasury returns
• Preferred:
  • Good understanding of Internal financial control impacting regulatory returns
  • Willingness and ability to take ownership of issues and manage through to a successful resolution
